Senior Energy Engineer
Overview

The Senior Energy Engineer is responsible for performing ASHRAE audits of Level 2 and Level 3, energy studies, implementation of energy studies to reduce energy costs and/or improve energy efficiency of projects. The jobholder provides general project oversight, quality control/assurance, and continuously informs project team members of updates & necessary adjustments.

What you will do


  • Identify and recommend energy saving strategies to achieve more energy-efficient operations

  • Inspect or monitor energy systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or daylighting systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings

  • Analyze, interpret, or create graphical representations of energy data, using engineering software

  • Perform on-site energy efficiency audits that are focused on mechanical systems, control systems and lighting energy efficiency opportunities

  • Perform energy modeling, measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro-commissioning. 

  • Review architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans or specifications to evaluate energy efficiency

  • Prepare energy-related project reports or related documentation

  • Review or negotiate energy performance contracts and agreements

  • Research renewable or alternative energy systems or technologies, such as solar thermal or photovoltaic energy

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to clients

  • Conduct Energy Management project presentations to clients

  • Work closely with the Area Operations and Business Development teams to identify new clients and explore new opportunities
