Senior Energy Engineer
Overview
The Senior Energy Engineer is responsible for performing ASHRAE audits of Level 2 and Level 3, energy studies, implementation of energy studies to reduce energy costs and/or improve energy efficiency of projects. The jobholder provides general project oversight, quality control/assurance, and continuously informs project team members of updates & necessary adjustments.
What you will do
- Identify and recommend energy saving strategies to achieve more energy-efficient operations
- Inspect or monitor energy systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or daylighting systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings
- Analyze, interpret, or create graphical representations of energy data, using engineering software
- Perform on-site energy efficiency audits that are focused on mechanical systems, control systems and lighting energy efficiency opportunities
- Perform energy modeling, measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro-commissioning.
- Review architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans or specifications to evaluate energy efficiency
- Prepare energy-related project reports or related documentation
- Review or negotiate energy performance contracts and agreements
- Research renewable or alternative energy systems or technologies, such as solar thermal or photovoltaic energy
- Provide technical assistance and guidance on energy efficient technologies and practices to clients
- Conduct Energy Management project presentations to clients
- Work closely with the Area Operations and Business Development teams to identify new clients and explore new opportunities
