The Saudi Arabian government is investing more than $22 billion into a public transport mega-project in Riyadh. The backbone of this project is a fully automated Metro driverless system with a total length of close to 176 km across 6 lines with 85 stations. The metro network covers most of Riyadh, linking the city center to universities, the international airport, a newly built financial district and other commercial areas. The construction and delivery of the Metro network was awarded to 3 different Design-Build Contractors (DBCs).
Scope:
Since August 2013, SETS has been working with the Louis Berger/Hill International JV, which is responsible for the PMCM scope of lines 4, 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro. Acting as the Traffic Management Team for the Louis Berger/Hill International PMCM team, SETS is providing (throughout the project duration) the necessary specialized services to review, advise on, and approve the TMPs and TTCPs proposed by the DBC for metro lines 4, 5 and 6, in line with the guidelines and procedures specified by the ADA’s Traffic Management Consultant (TMC), and to monitor the compliance with and implementation of these plans.
