MASAR Project implemented in Makkah by Umm Al Qura for Development and Construction Company fully supports the Government’s strategic plans to rehabilitate some of the least developed districts in the city. From upgrading the existing infrastructure, to creating a major movement axis in Makkah the MASAR is a prominent gateway to the Holy City, and the deployment of future transportation technologies.Located in the western region of Makkah, MASAR extends over 3,650 m from the western entrance of the Grand Mosque leading to Jabal Omar. Holding a total area of around 1.2 Km2 the project works include 9 Km of roads, a 60 m wide pedestrian boulevard, public realm, retail facilities, landscape and hardscape, 4 multi-story public parking structures, bridges, highway structures, retaining walls, Bus Rapid Transit infrastructure, metro stations and lines in addition to a variety of utility networks.
