Populous appointed SETS to undertake Traffic Impact Studies (TIS) for the upgrades of King Fahd International Stadium (KFIS) and Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium (PFBF) in Riyadh, which are being designed to accommodate approximately 72,000 and 45,000 spectators, respectively.
The upgraded stadiums are planned to host major international football events, including the AFC Asian Cup 2027 and FIFA World Cup 2034.
SETS’ scope includes assessing the impact of both stadium developments on the surrounding road and transportation networks, developing and testing traffic and transport solutions to facilitate efficient ingress and egress, analyzing parking demand and supply, and preparing concept designs for parking layouts, circulation, and access arrangements. SETS is also responsible for preparing the TIS methodology and final reports for submission to the client and relevant authorities.
