Development of the Eastern Part of the Third Ring Road in Riyadh

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) hired SETS, a world class consultant with broad experience in traffic engineering and management, transport planning and modeling, highway design, urban planning, and advanced mobility systems, to undertake a comprehensive study and design of Riyadh Eastern Part of the Third Ring Road.
The aim of the study is to study and analyze the main causes of traffic congestion faced by the city's transportation system, defining potential solutions an selecting the most feasible and practical solutions.
The study shall address current and future travel demand in the city, assess the sufficiency and deficiency of the existing and future road networks, and proposing alternate relief plans to meet the future travel demand.
The project objective is to plan and design the Eastern section of the newly-planned Third Ring Road in Riyadh. The scope of work covers the planning, route selection, traffic assessment, concept and detailed design of this 70Km road corridor.
